About Us

The Vermont Affiliate of American College of Nurse-Midwives is the professional organization that represents Certified Nurse-Midwives and Certified Midwives in the state of Vermont.

VT ACNM seeks to improve the health and well-being of women and infants within their families and communities by promoting the availability of information and resources for women and their families. VT ACNM also hopes to improve the health of women and infants by furthering the development of the profession of midwifery in order to increase the availability of midwifery services. It is the philosophy of the profession that every individual has the right to safe, satisfying health care with respect for human dignity and cultural variations.

The mission of the American College of Nurse-Midwives is to support midwives and advance the practice of midwifery in order to achieve optimal health for women through their lifespan.
